Home 9 Learning Support

Our school community is welcoming and accepting of diverse learners.  Specialist staff work alongside subject teachers to ensure that all learners can access the curriculum, make progress and achieve their goals. Some students also spend time in our Learning Support Hub to receive more intensive assistance.

We recognise that unique individuals need tailor made support. We work with whānau to get to know our learners, celebrate their talents and plan together for the future.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Students learning English as a second or additional language, are well supported to advance their English language skills.  We have a specialist Learning Support Assistant to assist ESOL students develop and monitor their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Second language learners are supported in class alongside peers, make use of online tools and have individually tailored English language programmes if required.  Students are always encouraged to further develop their home language and maintain close cultural connections.
